Farmers in the northern Guinea Savannah ecological zone of Nigeria have been experiencing declining crop yield due to erratic water supply. In recent times, research on better water management and interaction between effects of climate, soil and field management on crop production is fast gaining grounds with the use of models. Models can be used to predict the impact of long-term climate variability, thus providing an opportunity of better techniques compared with the traditional multi-location trials. A produção de uvas vem ganhando, cada vez mais, destaque na economia do Brasil. No Semiárido, o cultivo de uvas de mesa atinge uma área de aproximadamente 12.100 hectares, cuja produtividade ocupa uma parcela significativa o mercado, inclusive nas exportações. Este trabalho reúne informações técnicas acerca da produção de uva de mesa nas condições do Semiárido do Brasil sob regime irrigado. ABSTRACT Planting density can influence the competitiveness among plants mainly by water, nutrients and solar radiation, directly affecting yield. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the productivity of different soybean cultivars at different planting populations under irrigated and rainfed conditions. The experiment was conducted during the 2014/15 growing season, under center pivot irrigation in Chapadão do Sul – MS, Brazil. A field experiment on the effects of drip irrigation (DI) and subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) with saline water (6.57 dS m-1) on three tomato cultivars (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill., cvs. Rio Tinto, Rio Grande and Nemador) was carried out with the purpose to quantify physiological responses. The aim was to improve irrigation water management under saline conditions of Tunisia. The trial was established in a silt-clayey soil with three regimes of irrigation: 100 %, 85 % and 70 % of crop water requirement. There is a growing policy pressure to reduce water use in agriculture when this generates sufficiently large environmental benefits and increases the well-being of other water users. Several analysis investigate farmers’ response to water policy by means of mathematical programming models including Positive Mathematical Programming (PMP). This study aimed to get the most possible benefit of using deficit irrigation to maximize water productivity of squash, besides investigating the ability of drip irrigation uniformity to reduce the effect of deficit irrigation on squash crop production (Cucurbita pepo - Hybrid Revera). ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the water productivity into biomass and into sugar for 23 sugarcane varieties (second ratoon crop) under two levels of drip irrigation. Two experiments were conducted in a greenhouse. Experiment 1 comprised nine sugarcane varieties grown in a clay soil and Experiment 2 was composed of 14 varieties in a sandy-loam soil. Moreover, two irrigation treatments were adopted: T100 - full irrigation with 100% crop evapotranspiration replacement, maintaining soil moisture near field capacity for each variety; and T70 - irrigation with 70% T100 water depth.
